Gambits can be a gamble

A gambit is a chess opening in which the first player risks or sacrifices material, usually a pawn, with the hope of achieving a resulting advantageous position.

In this game White played the King's Gambit but gave Black the advantage.

In the position reached here White (to move) can play queen to a4 checking Black's king with the option of then capturing the bishop on b4
