Composing chess puzzles
Ever tried to compose a chess puzzle or problem ?
Chess problems come in a variety of genres, the most common of which is the directmate. In this type, White plays first and forces mate in the specified number of moves, against any black defence. Only one of White’s moves is able to achieve this and the solver’s goal is to discover this unique first move, called the key.
