Considering candidate moves

Candidate moves are those you consider most in a given position. After ensuring that your opponent isn't about to checkmate you or capture a key piece - the best moves to consider are forcing moves such as checks and captures

In this position it was my turn to move (playing Black). My opponent is not making any immediate threats. I can check with ...Qxh3 but that is defended.
