Attack your opponent's weaknesses

You want your pieces to be as effective as possible. Part of being more effective is making sure that they attack weak spots in your opponent’s position. A weak spot can be the king, a pawn or group of pawns, a piece, or even a particular square. Don’t attack your opponent where he is strongest; attack him where he is weakest.
